Abstract To investigate the effects of Siebens domain management model for treating pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) on their blood glucose level and pregnancy outcomes. Methods: A total of 198 pregnant women with GDM were selected as research subjects from September 2019 to September 2021. These women were divided into two groups (99 cases in each group) by random number table. The women in the control group were given routine management and the women in the experimental group were given Siebens domain management model. The levels of fasting plasma glucose (FPG), 2 hours postprandial blood glucose (2h PG), the hemoglobin Alc (HbAlc), the quality of life, and the adverse pregnancy outcomes of the women were compared between the two groups. Results: The levels of FPG, 2h PG, and HbAlc of the women in both groups after treatment had decreased significantly, and which of the women in the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the women in the control group. The score by SF-36 of the women in both groups had increased significantly, and which of the women in the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the women in the control group. The total incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes (11.1%) of the women in the experimental group was significantly lower than that (39.4%) of the women in the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of Siebens domain management model in the pregnant women with GDM has significant efficacy, which can effectively manage the blood glucose level, improve the quality of life, and reduce the adverse pregnancy outcomes of these women.
