Abstract To explore the relationship between serum miR-1304-3p and miR-17-5p levels of patients with endometriosis (EMS) and their severity of EMS and their infertility. Methods: A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 78 patients with EMS from April 2017 to April 2019 was conducted. The levels of miR-13043p and miR-17-5p detection of the patients were compared between the two groups. Spearman correlation was used to analyze the relationship between miR1304-3p and miR-17-5p levels and the clinical stage and dysmenorrhea degree of patients with EMS. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the value of combined detection of serum miR-1304-3p and miR-17-5p for diagnosing infertility of the patients with EMS. Results: The serum levels of miR-1304-3p and miR-17-5p of the patients with EMS had significant different among the patients with different R-AFS stages of EMS and among patients with different dysmorrhea degree (P<0.05), and the serum miR-1304-3p level had increased with the increase of R-AFS stages of EMS and the serum miR-17-5p level had decreased with the increase of R-AFS stages of EMS (P<0.05), and the serum miR-1304-3p level had increased with the increase of dysmorrhea degree and the serum miR-17-5p level had decreased with the increase of dysmorrhea degree (P<0.05). Correlation analysis showed that the serum miR-1304-3p level of the patients with EMS was positively correlated with their R-AFS stage of EMS and dysmenorrhea degree (r=0.714, 0.753, P<0.01), the serum miR-17-5p level of the patients with EMS was negatively correlated with their R-AFS stage of EMS and dysmenorrhea degree (r=-0.619, -0.690, P<0.01). The serum miR-1304-3p level of the patients with EMS and infertility was significant higher than that of EMS patients without infertility, but the miR-17-5p level of the patients with EMS and infertility was significant lower (P<0.05). ROC curve showed that the combined detection of the serum miR-1304-3p and miR-17-5p levels for diagnosing infertility of the patients with EMS has high value (AUC=0.924, P<0.01). Conclusion: The serum miR-1304-3p level of patients with EMS increases with the severity of their EMS, and which of the patients with EMS and infertility is higher, while the serum miR-17-5p levels decreases with the severity of their EMS, and which of the patients with EMS and infertility is lower. Combined detection of serum miR-1304-3p and miR-17-5p levels can be used as an auxiliary method for diagnosing infertility of the patients with EMS.
