Abstract To explore the value of the parameters examined by color Doppler ultrasound for diagnosing preeclampsia (PE), and to study its correlation with the severity of PE of pregnant women. Methods: 86 pregnant women with PE were selected in study group from April 2017 to June 2019, and 86 healthy pregnant women were selected in control group during the same period. Color Doppler ultrasound examinations were performed for the women in the two groups. The levels of umbilical cord blood flow parameters by color Doppler ultrasound, such as blood pulsation index (PI), resistance index (RI), systolic and diastolic flow rate (S/D) of the women were compared among the women with different severity of PE, and among the women with different pregnancy outcomes. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to analyze the efficacy of the parameters examined by color Doppler ultrasound for diagnosing PE. Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the relationship between the parameters examined by color Doppler ultrasound and the severity of PE of the women. ROC curve was also used to analyze the value of the parameters examined by color Doppler ultrasound for predicting the adverse pregnancy outcomes of women with PE. Results: The values of PI, RI and S/D of the women in the study group were significant higher than those of the women in control group (P<0.05). The AUC of RI value for diagnosing PE was 0.808, which was the highest. The values of PI, RI, S/D of the women with severe PE were significant higher than those of the women with mild PE, and which were positively correlated with the severity of PE (P<0.05). The values of PI, RI and S/D of the women with adverse pregnancy outcomes were significant higher than those of the women without adverse pregnancy outcomes (P<0.05). The AUC of PE value for diagnosing adverse pregnancy outcomes of the women with PE was 0.801, which was the highest. Conclusion: The values of PI, RI, and S/D examined by color Doppler ultrasound are closely related to the severity of PE, which have some clinical significance for diagnosing PE and for predicting prognosis of pregnancy outcomes.
