Abstract To observe the efficacy of clomiphene citrate capsules combined with insulin sensitizer for treating women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and to study its effects on anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) level and pregnancy rate of the women after treatment. Methods: 80 women with PCOS were selected and were random divided into two groups (40 cases in each group) from January 2015 to January 2019. The women in the control group were treated by clomiphene citrate capsules, and the women in the observation group were treated by clomiphene citrate capsules combined with insulin sensitizer. The changes of the levels of serum sex hormones follicular growth hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol (E2), and AMH before and after treatment, and curative effect and pregnancy outcomes, such as ovulation rate, pregnancy rate, and early abortion rate, of the women were compared between the two groups. Results:After 3 months of treatment, the total effective rate (97.5%) of the women in the observation group was significant higher than that (82.5%) of the women in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of serum FSH, LH and E2 of the women in the two groups had decreased significantly after treatment, and which of the women in the observation group were significant lower than those of the women in the control group (P<0.05). After 1 year of followed up, the ovulation rate (85.0%) and pregnancy rate (73.5%) of the women in the observation group were significant higher than those (62.5% and 36.0%) of the women in the control group, but the early abortion rate (0.0%) of the women in the observation group was significant lower than that (22.2%) of the women in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Clomiphene citrate capsules combined with insulin sensitizer for treating women with PCOS can enhance the efficacy, improve the hormones levels, promote their ovulation, and increase the pregnancy rate.
