Abstract Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) is a transparent thermoplastic copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate (VA) monomer. EVA is an excellent drug delivery vehicle due to its good flexibility, biocompatibility, and the ability to deliver drugs during long period and in a controlled manner. EVA drug delivery vehicles have been used in reproductive health filed in the form of EVA intravaginal ring, EVA implants, and EVA transdermal drug delivery system. This article reviews the research progress of EVA drug delivery system in reproductive health filed according to the classification of dosage forms based on a brief introduction of EVA materials. Finally the advantages and disadvantages of EVA drug delivery system were summarized in order to the widely application of EVA in reproductive health filed.
