Abstract Objective: To explore the effect of methotrexate (MTX) combined with traditional Chinese medicion for treating women with ectopic pregnancy, and to study its influence on blood beta human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) level and pelvic mass of women. Methods: 104 women with ectopic pregnancy were divided into two groups according to different treatment methods from January 2017 to December 2018. The women in the control group were treated with MTX, and the women in the observation group were treated with MTX combined with traditional Chinese medicine. The clinical effect of women were compared between the two groups. Results: The disappearance time of vaginal bleeding, the time of blood β-HCG turned to negative, the recovery time of menstruation, and the hospitalization time of women in the observation group were 18.0±3.3d, 17.6±3.4d, 24.9±4.2, and 11.2±2.9d, respectively, which were significant shorter than those of women in the control group (P<0.05). The time of pelvic mass absorption of women in the observation group was better than that of women in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of blood beta-hcg, statin-A, estradiol (E2), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a), and interleukin-8 (IL-8) of women in the observation group were significant lower than those of women in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: MTX combined with traditional Chinese medicion for treating women with ectopic pregnancy can reduce the levels of β-hCG, statin-A, and E2 of women, can inhibit inflammatory response, can promote the absorption of pelvic mass, and can shorten the course of disease.
