Abstract To investigate the characteristics of serum miR-26b of women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and to explore its relationship to obesity and glycolipid metabolism of women with PCOS. Methods: 91 women with PCOS and 60 healthy women were selected in this study from February 2014 to December 2017. Real-time quantitative PCR (RT-PCR) was used to detect the serum miR-26b expression of all included women. Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between miR-26b and obesity and disorders of glycolipid metabolism. Results: The serum miR-26b level of women with PCOS was significant higher than that of normal women[(2.74±0.69) VS (1.16±0.27) P<0.05].The serum miR-26b level of women with PCOS and obesity was significant higher than that of normal weight women with PCOS [(3.13±0.85) VS (2.33±0.31), P<0.05]. The serum miR-26b level of women with PCOS and disorders of glycolipid metabolism was significant higher than that of normal weight women with PCOS and normal glycolipid metabolism. [(3.26±0.72) VS (2.33±0.16), P<0.05]. The serum miR-26b level was positively correlated with level of LDL-C, HOMA-IR and or BMI of women with PCOS(r=0.510, 0.616, 0.456, P<0.05). And for normal women, the serum miR-26b level was positively correlated with level of LDL-C, HOMA-IR and or BMI of women. Conclusions: The level of serum miR-26b women with PCOS has upregulated, which is associated with obesity and disorders of glycolipid metabolism.
