| Clinical efficacy of progesterone combined with compound Xuanju capsule for treating infertility women with polycystic ovary syndrome and its influence on ovarian function |

Abstract To investigate the clinical efficacy of progesterone combined Xuanju capsule for treating infertility women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and to analyze its influence on ovarian function. Methods：86 infertility women with PCOS were randomly divided into observation group and control group (43 cases in each group) from November 2016 to November 2017. Women in both groups were given citrate clomiphene capsules on the 5th day of menstrual cycle, women in observation group were additional given compound Xuanju capsules and progesterone, and women in control group were additional given progesterone. After 3 months of continuous treatment, the clinical efficacy of women was compared between the two groups. The levels of sex hormone, stem cell growth factor (HGF), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) of women were compared before and after treatment. After 6 months of followed up, the ovarian volume, endometrial thickness, and rates of natural ovulation and pregnancy of women were recorded. Results: The total effective rate of women in observation group was 86.4%, which was significant higher than that (72.1%) of women in control group was (P<0.05).The levels of E2, FSH and P of all women significant increased after treatment (P<0.05), but the levels of T, LH, HGF, and VEGF decreased significantly after treatment (P<0.05). The above indicators of observation group were better than those of control group (P<0.05).The ovarian volume decreased, and the thickness of endometrium increased significantly after treatment (P<0.05), but there were no significant different in the changes of ovarian volume and thickness of endometrium between the two groups (P>0.05). The maximum diameter of follicles increased, and the number of follicles decreased significantly after treatment (P<0.05), but there were no significant different in the changes of maximum diameter of follicles and number of follicles between the two groups (P>0.05).The rates of normal menstrual cycle, normal ovulation, and natural pregnancy of women the observation group were 83.7%, 79.1% and 44.2%, respectively, which were significant higher than those (72.1%, 65.1% and 32.6%, respectively) of women in control group (P<0.05).Conclusion: Ovulation induction treatment combined with compound Xuanju capsules and progesterone for infertility women with PCOS can significantly improve ovarian function and the levels of sex hormones, HGF and VEGF, and can increase the natural pregnancy rate.
