Abstract Objective: To compare the cinical effect of Yuangong medicine copper 220 and active γtype intrauterine device (IUD). Methods: From January 2017 to January 2018, 2138 healthy women of childbearing age who had inserted IUD were selected, wich included 1070 women in group A (women inserted Yuangong medicine copper 220 IUD) and 1068 women in group B (women inserted activeγtype IUD). The rates of pregnancy with IUD and termination related to expultion of IUD of all included women during 1 year after IUD inserted were observed. Results: The rate of pregnancy with IUD, the rate of termination related to expultion of IUD, and the removal rate caused by symptoms of women in group A were 0.47%, 0.56%, and 0.47%, which had no significant different from those (0.28%, 0.47%, and 0.37%) of women in group B (P>0.05). There were no significant different in the incidences of vaginitis, cervicitis, adnexitis and pelvic inflammation of women between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: There are no significant different in the rate of pregnancy with IUD, the rate of termination related to expultion of IUD, and the removal rate caused by symptoms between Yuangong medicine copper 220 IUD and activeγtype IUD, so both IUDs have good clinical application value.
