Abstract Objective: To explore the effect of clinical nursing pathway (CNP) application in the followed-up after abortion. Methods: A total of 1200 women less than 46 years old who had voluntary induced abortion due to unwanted pregnancy from November 2016 to June 2017 were included and randomly divided into control group and observation group (600 cases in each group). The women in the control group were given routine treatment in followed-up for 12 months, while the women in the observation group were given CNP in followed-up for 12 months. The clinical effect was compared between the two groups. Results: The rate of compliance, service satisfaction degree, and rate of effective contraception used, and the levels of reproductive health and contraceptive knowledge of women in the observation group were significant higher than those of women in the control group (P<0.05). The rates of unsafe contraception used and no contraception used, complications, and repeated abortion, and adverse mood score of women in the observation group were significant lower than those of women in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of CNP in the followed-up after induced abortion can effectively improve the compliance and service satisfaction degree, increase reproductive health and contraceptive knowledge, enhance self-management ability on contraception, increase effective contraception used, alleviate bad mood of women, and can reduce rates of complications and repeated abortion.
