| Observation of the effect of pill of ethenoestradiol combined with cyproterone and levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system for treating perimenopausal women with dysfunctional uterine blood |

Abstract To compare the effect of ethenoestradiol combined with cyproterone with levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS) for treating perimenopausal women with dysfunctional uterine blood, and to study their influences on endometrial thickness, menstrual flow, and hemoglobin levels of perimenopausal women. Methods: 84 perimenopausal women with dysfunctional uterine bleeding who had admitted to Xuzhou central hospital were divided into drug group (n=42) or IUS group (n=42) by random number table method. The perimenopausal women in drug group were treated by pill of ethenoestradiol combined with cyproterone, and the patients in IUS group were inserted LNG-IUS. The clinical efficacy and the changes of the endometrium thickness, menstrual flow and hemoglobin levels of perimenopausal women were compared between the two groups. Results: The endometrial thickness of perimenopausal women in IUS group was significant lower than that of perimenopausal women in drug group, and the Hb value of perimenopausal women in IUS group was significant higher than that of perimenopausal women in drug group (P<0.05). The menstrual cycle time of perimenopausal women in IUS group was significant longer than that of perimenopausal women in drug group, the PBCA score of perimenopausal women in IUS group was significant lower than that of perimenopausal women in drug group, and menstrual period time of perimenopausal women in IUS group was significant shorter than that of perimenopausal women in drug group (P<0.05). The bleeding control time and complete bleeding stop time of perimenopausal women in drug group were significant shorter than those of perimenopausal women in IUS group (P<0.05). The effective rate of perimenopausal women in drug group (90.5%) had no significant different from that (97.6%) of perimenopausal women in IUS group (P>0.05). The recurrence rate of perimenopausal women in drug group (11.9%) was significant higher than that (2.4%) of perimenopausal women in IUS group (P<0.05). There was no significant different in the incidence of adverse reactions of perimenopausal women between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Both pill of ethenoestradiol combined with cyproterone and LNG-IUS are effective for treating perimenopausal women with dysfunctional uterine blood, but LNGIUS has lower recurrence rate, and it is more convenient for user.
