Abstract Preeclampsia is a pregnancy specific disease, which is one of the main causes leading to death of perinatal maternal and infant. At present, the etiology and pathogenesis of this disease is not clear. How to predict the occurrence of the disease, timely give preventive measures to reduce preeclampsia related adverse pregnancy outcomes is essential. At present, many studies have found that changes in serum hCG levels are associated with preeclampsia. This article reviews the progress of research on the correlation between hCG and preeclampsia.
