Abstract Objective: To investigate the expression characteristics of serum lipoprotein associated phospholipase A2 (Lp PLA2), stromal cell chemokine 1α(SDF 1α), and fibroblast growth factor (FGF21) of patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and to explore the relationship of Lp PLA2, SDF 1α, and FGF21 with abnormal postpartum glucose metabolism. Methods: 138 pregnant women with GDM were selected as subjects. They were divided into postpartum diabetes group (30 cases), postpartum glucose tolerance damaged group (41 cases) and postpartum glucose tolerance normal group (67 cases) according to the results of postpartum blood glucose screening. The levels of blood glucose relevant indicators and serum cytokine of all included women were detected, and their relevance was analyzed further. Results: When the levels of fasting blood glucose (FBG), triglyceride (TG), insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) and Lp PLA2, SDF 1α and FGF21 of women in the three groups were compared, which in postpartum diabetes group were significant higher than those in postpartum glucose tolerance damaged group, and those in postpartum glucose tolerance damaged group were significant higher than those in postpartum glucose tolerance normal group (P<0.05). Levels of Lp PLA2, SDF 1αand FGF21 were positively correlated with postpartum blood glucose relevant indicators (P<0.05). Conclusion: The expression of Lp PLA2, SDF 1αand FGF21 is closely related to postpartum abnormal glucose metabolism. It can be used as a reliable index for clinical screening postpartum abnormal glucose metabolism of pregnant women with GDM.
