| Effect of ethacridine combined with uterine arterial embolization used for the second trimester abortion of patients with complete ectopic placenta and scar uterus |

Abstract Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of ethacridine combined with uterine arterial embolization used for the second trimester abortion of patients with complete ectopic placenta and scar uterus. Methods: 108 pregnant women with complete placenta and scar uterus who wanted to the second trimester abortion were divided into two groups (54 cases in each group) according to the different abortion method. The pregnant women in control group were treated by istaxanthidine alone for abortion, and pregnant women in observation group were given ixacycline combined with uterine artery embolization for abortion. The effects of abortion were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of abortion in observation group was 96.3%, which was significant higher than that (75.9%) in control group (P<0.05). The incidence of cesarean section, placenta adhesion and hysterectomy in observation group were significant lower than those in control group (P<0.05). The volume of blood at 24h before abortion, during abortion, and after abortion in observation group were significant lower than those in control group (P<0.05). In the control group, 7 women accepted emergency UAE because of abortion failure. A few women in observation group had symptoms, such as fever, lower abdominal pain, and local puncture side pain, but the symptoms were mild, and these symptoms disappeared without any treatment. Conclusion: Ethacridine combined with uterine arterial embolization used for the second trimester abortion of patients with complete ectopic placenta and scar uterus can effectively reduce the volume of bleeding during abortion, can increase the success rate of abortion, and can reduce the risk of cesarean section and placenta accretion.
