Abstract Objective: To investigate the status and influencing factor of post-traumatic growth (PTG) among women with a history of induced abortion. Methods: A total of 810 women seeking for induced labor between March 2009 and July 2013 were recruited and surveyed with a questionnaire before discharge. Data were analyzed by SPSS17.0 software. Results: The total score of PTG was 61.43±15.72, and the average was 3.08±0.79. The insights on life was scored highest in average (3.59±0.86), while the self transformation was lowest (2.74±1.07).There was a significant negative correlation between the age, number of term delivery, number of children and self transformation factor (r=-0.083, -0.084, -0.088, P<0.05). Compared with married women, unmarried women scored higher in the self transformation (t=-2.666, P<0.05). The undergraduate or above scored the highest interpersonal relationship, and there were significant differences among women with different educational levels (F=3.604, P<0.05). Conclusion: The PTG level has a significant negative correlation with the age, number of term delivery, number of children. The married state and high educational level have a positive meaning for the PTG and proper guidance would help alleviate the negative emotion.
