Abstract To explore the clinical significance of the monitoring of 24-hour urinary protein (24h UPro) quantification of pregnant women with preeclampsia, and to study its predictive value for the adverse pregnancy outcomes of the women. Methods: A total of 115 pregnant women with PE were enrolled in this study between September 2019 and September 2021. According to the severity of PE, these women were divided into group A (65 women with PE) and group B (50 women with severe PE). The values of liver function and renal function indexes, the blood lipid and albumin levels, the platelet count, and the 24h UPro value of the women were compared between the two groups. The predictive value of 24h UPro quantitation of the women for their severe PE was analyzed. The pregnancy outcomes of the women with different value of 24h UPro quantitation were also analyzed. Results: The levels of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, triglyceride, total cholesterol, urea nitrogen, and serum creatinine of the women in group B were significantly higher than those of the women in group A. The value of 24h UPro quantitation (4.12±0.51g) of the women in group B was significantly higher than that (1.04±0.25g) of the women in group A. The albumin and platelet count of the women in group B was significantly lower than that of the women in group A (all P<0.05). ROC analysis showed that the area under the curve, the cutoff value, the sensitivity, and the specificity of the value of 24h UPro quantitation of the women for predicting their severe PE were 0.886, 3.432, 82.0%, and 87.7%, respectively. The incidence of the adverse pregnancy outcomes was significantly different among the women with different value of 24h UPro quantitation, and the incidence of the adverse pregnancy outcomes of the women with the value of 24h UPro quantitation <1g was significantly lower. Conclusion: The value of 24h UPro quantitation of the pregnant women increases with the aggravation of their PE, and which has a certain associated with the pregnancy outcomes of the women. The value of 24h UPro quantitation of the women can assist other relevant examinations for evaluating the change of their PE state in clinic.
