Abstract To observe the efficacy of medicated genefixed intrauterine device (IUD) inserted immediately after vacuum aspiration in early pregnant women with different delivery mode. Methods:Subjects were recruited from 15 hospitals during January 2017 to October 2019. 2994 early pregnant women who request IUD insertion immediately after vacuum aspiration were allocated into vaginal delivery group (n=1617) and cesarean section group (n=1377) according to their previous delivery mode. And these women were followed up for one year. Results: 2610 subjects were included in one year life table analysis. The Bearl index of the pregnancy with IUD in situ, the expulsion related discontinuation, the IUD removal due to medical reasons, and the total IUD related discontinuation of the women in the cesarean section group (n=1129) were 0.39, 2.70, 2.21, and 5.22/100 woman year, respectively, and which were all higher than those of the women in the vaginal delivery group (n=1481, and 0.07, 1.90, 1.73, and 3.67/100 woman year), but the difference between the two groups was not statistical significant (P>0.05). Conclusion: Previous delivery mode has no effect on the contraceptive efficacy of medicated genefixed IUD inserted immediately after vacuum aspiration.
