Abstract To explore the expression of progestin and adipoQ receptor 3 (PAQR3), cell adhesion molecules (CAMs), and hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) of infertility women with endometriosis (EMs), and to study their possible correlation. Methods: 42 samples of ectopic endometrium of infertility women with Ems were selected in group A, 30 samples of eutopic endometrium of infertility women with EMs were selected in group B, and 20 samples of normal endometrium were selected in group C. The levels of PAQR3, CAMs, and HIF-1α in different endometrial tissues were detected, and the correlation between which and their endometrial fertility index (EFI) was analyzed. Results: The positive expression rates of PAQR3 in group A, B and C were 33.3%, 66.7% and 85.0%, respectively, the positive expression rates of CD44 in group A, B, and C were 88.1%, 46.7%, and 20.0%, respectively, the positive expression rates of HIF-1α protein in group A, B, and C were 83.3%, 53.3%, and 0, respectively. The positive rates of PAQR3, CD44, and HIF-1α protein in group A were significantly higher than those in group B and in group C (P<0.05), but in group A, there were no significant differences in the positive rates of PAQR3, CD44, and HIF1αof the women with different EMs stages (P>0.05). The EFI score of the women with positive PAQR3 was significantly higher than that of the women with negative PAQR3, but the EFI scores of the women with positive CD44 and HIF-1α were significantly lower than those of the women with negative CD44 and HIF-1α. The PAQR3 level of the women was positively correlated with their EFI score, while the CD44 and HIF-1α levels of the women were negatively correlated with their EFI scores (all P<0.05). Conclusion: The levels of PAQR3, CAMs, and HIF-1αof infertility women with EMs are all abnormal, which suggest that the levels of PAQR3, CAMs, and HIF-1α may promote the occurrence and development of Ems of the women, thus leading to their infertility.
