Abstract To compare the clinical effect of hysteroscopic electrotomy and hysteroscopic clamp for removing the retained products of conception (RPOC). Methods: The data of 175 patients who underwent hysteroscopic RPOC removal from January 2018 to December 2021 were analyzed retrospectively. These patients were divided into group A (71 cases with hysteroscopic electrotomy for removing RPOC) and group B (104 cases with hysteroscopic hysteroscopic clamp for removing RPOC). The situations during operation of the patients were compared between two groups. Results: There were no significant differences in the operative time, the intraoperative blood loss, the postoperative vaginal bleeding time, the incidences of intrauterine adhesions, severe uterine flexion, and uterine malformation of the patients between the two groups (P>0.05). There were no significant differences in the incidence of complications (2.8% vs. 4.8%), the complete removal rate (95.8% vs. 97.1%), and the rate of intrauterine readhesion after operation (2.8% vs. 1.9%) of the patients between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: The clinical effect of hysteroscopic clamp for removing RPOC of the patients is similar to that of hysteroscopic electrotomy, which is a feasible operative method with the characteristics of simple, effectiveness, and safety, especially suitable for the primary hospital.
