Abstract Objective: To investigate the protective effect of low dose aspirin on pregnancy outcomes of patients with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy. Methods: In this retrospective study, 165 pregnant women with mild preeclampsia who were treated by low dose of aspirin were selected in treatment group, and 193 pregnant women with mild preeclampsia who were not aspirin treatment were in control group during the same period. The pregnancy outcomes and maternal and fetal complications were compared between the two groups. Results: The average gestational weeks when delivery and neonatal weight in treatment group were significant greater than those in control group (P<0.05). The incidence of postpartum hemorrhage, placental abruption, cesarean section, and rate of neonatal asphyxia and neonatal referral to NICU had no significant different between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: The low dose aspirin used to treat pregnant women with preeclampsia can prolong gestational weeks, increase neonatal weight, and reduce fetal growth restriction, but not increases the rate of postpartum hemorrhage, placental abruption and other complications.
