Abstract Objective: To analyze the expression of integrin α2β1 and CD44V3 in cervical squamous cell carcinoma, and to explore its clinical significance. Methods: Cervix tissues specimens of 72 women were collected from Tianjin gynecology and obstetrics central hospital, the third hospital of Hebei medical university, and Hebei provincial traditional Chinese medicine hospital from 2015 to 2017, which included 36 cases with cervical squamous cell carcinoma (in observation group) and 36 cases with uterine leiomyoma (in control group). The expressions of integrin α2β1 and CD44V3 in cervix tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry (SP method). Results: The expression of integrin α2β1 mRNA in cervix tissues(0.09±0.03) of women in control group was significant lower than that (0.52±0.08) of women in observation group (t=30.20, P=0.000). The expression of integrin CD44V3 mRNA of women in control group (0.13±0.02) was significant lower than that(0.65±0.11 ) of women in observation group (t=27.91, P=0.000). The positive rates of integrin α2β1 and CD44V3 in cervix tissues of women in observation group were 66.7% and 72.2%, respectively, which were significantly higher than those of women (27.8% and 38. 9%, respectively) in control group (χ2=10.92, 8.10, P=0.001, 0.004). There was no significant correlation between the expression of integrin α2β1 or CD44V3 and the age of women with cervical squamous cell carcinoma (P>0.05), but there were significant correlation between the expression of integrin α2β1 or CD44V3 and the PTNM staging, differentiation degree of carcinoma cell , lymph node metastasis and depth of invasion (all P<0.05). The expression of integrin α2β1 and CD44V3 in cervical squamous cell carcinoma had positively correlated (r=0.369, P<0.05). Conclusion: The expressions of integrin α2β1 and CD44V3 in cervix tissues of women with cervical squamous cell carcinoma are high, which are closely related to the PTNM staging, differentiation degree of carcinoma cell, lymph node metastasis and depth of invasion. The combined detection of integrin α2β1 and CD44V3 can be used as reference for diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of cervical squamous cell carcinoma.
