Abstract To explore the correlation between the polymorphism of vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene FOKI site of pregnant women and their preeclampsia (PE) genetic susceptibility. Methods: The case-control studies that reported the correlation between the polymorphism of VDR gene FOKI site of pregnant women and their PE susceptibility were searched by computer from the database, such as CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, China Biomedical Literature Database, PubMed and Web of Science, from the database established until May 2023. Meta-analysis was performed based on Stata 11.0 software under five genetic models: allele model (f vs F), homozygous comparison model (ff vs FF), heterozygous comparison model (Ff vs FF), dominant comparison model (Ff+ff vs FF) and recessive comparison model (ff vs FF+Ff). The correlation between the polymorphisms of VDR gene FOKI site of the pregnant women and their PE susceptibility was evaluated by the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Results: A total of 8 studies were included in this meta-analysis, including 3,446 subjects. The results of the meta-analysis showed that the polymorphism of VDR gene FOKI site of the pregnant women was correlation with their PE genetic susceptibility in the allele model (f vs F)(OR=1.49, 95%CI 1.08-2.05), in the homozygous comparison model (ff vs FF) (OR=1.80, 95%CI 1.11-2.93) and in the implicit comparison model (ff vs FF+Ff) (OR=1.95, 95% CI 1.39-2.73), but the polymorphism of VDR gene FOKI site of the pregnant women was no significant correlation with their PE genetic susceptibility in the hybrid comparison model (Ff vs FF) and in the dominant comparison model (Ff+ff vs FF). Conclusion: The polymorphism of VDR gene FOKI site of the pregnant women may be correlation with their PE susceptibility, and the f allele and ff genotype of the women may be the risk factors of their PE.
