Abstract To investigate the expressions of serum neuromodulatory protein 4 (NRG4), hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), and amyloid A (SAA) pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and to study their associated with the glucose and lipid metabolism indexes levels and the adverse pregnancy outcomes of these women. Methods: 72 pregnant women with GDM were selected in study group, and 50 healthy pregnant women were selected in control group from January 2021 to January 2022. The expression levels of serum NRG4, HGF, and SAA, and the levels of glucose and lipid metabolism indexes, such as fasting blood glucose (FPG), postprandial 1h blood glucose (1hPG), postprandial 2h blood glucose (2hPG), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), apolipoprotein A (ApoA), high density lipoprotein (HDL), and low density lipoprotein (LDL), of the women in the two groups were detected. The pregnancy outcomes of the women in the two groups were evaluated. According to the pregnancy outcomes of the women, the women in the study group were divided into group A (women with adverse pregnancy outcomes) and group B (women with normal pregnancy outcomes). Pearson correlation analysis was used for the correlation analysis. Results: The levels of NRG4, HGF, and HDL of the women in the study group were significantly lower than those of the women in the control group, while the levels of SAA, TG, TC, LDL, apoA, FPG, 1hPG, 2hPG, and FINS, and the HOMA-IR value of the women in the study group were significantly higher than those of the women in the control group. Pearson correlation analysis showed that the levels of serum NRG4, HGF, SAA, TG, LDL, HDL, apoA, FPG, 2 HPG, and FINS, and the HOMA-IR of the women with GDM were correlated each other (all P<0.05). The incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes (61.1%) of the women in the study group was significantly higher than that (8.0%) of the women in the control group. The serum NRG4 and HGF levels of the women in group B were significantly higher than those of the women in group A, and the SAA level of the women in group B was significantly lower than that of the women in group A (all P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the expressions of serum NRG4, HGF, and SAA of the women with GDM were correlated with their adverse pregnancy outcomes (P<0.05). Conclusion: The levels of serum NRG4, HGF, and SAA of the pregnant women with GDM during the second or the third trimester of pregnancy are abnormal, and which have the correlation with the glucose and lipid metabolism indexes levels and the adverse pregnancy outcomes of these women.
