Abstract To explore the correlation between greenness exposure of pregnant women with prepregnancy hypertension and the risk of their small for gestational age (SGA). Methods: The women with prepregnancy hypertension from National Free Preconception Health Examination Project (NFPHEP) from January 2010 to December 2015 were included to analyze. Multiple Logistic regression model was used to analyze the effects of the greenness exposure of the women with prepregnancy hypertension on their SGA. Results: A total of 44,110 women with prepregnancy hypertension were included in this study, among which, 5657 women gave birth to the newborns with SGA. The results showed that the correlation between the exposure to greenness of the women and the risk of their SGA was statistically significant. The crude OR value (95%CI) was 0.946 (0.915-0.979) for every 0.1 unit increase in the enhanced vegetation index within the 500-meter radius. The correlation remained statistically significant after adjusting for other confounding factors, and the OR value (95% CI) was 0.954 (0.9210.989). Conclusion: Exposure to greenness of the women with prepregnancy hypertension can reduce their risk of SGA.
