Abstract To investigate the expression levels of human sapiens epididymis specific protein 4 (HE4) and signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) in ovarian cancer tissues of patients, and to study the blood flow parameter characteristic of ovarian cancer by transvaginal color Doppler ultrasound (TVCDS). Methods:From June 2018 to September 2020, 65 patients with ovarian cancer were selected in study group, and 61 patients with benign ovarian tumors were selected in control group during the same period. The protein expression levels of HE4 and STAT3 in the resected ovarian cancer tissues after surgery were detected by immunohistochemistry. TVCDS was used to measure the resistance index (RI) and pulsation index (PI) of the blood flow of the ovarian cancer. The differences of blood flow parameters (RI and PI) values of the patients with different expression levels of HE4 and STAT3 in ovarian cancer tissues were analyzed. Results: The positive expression rates of HE4 (78.5%) and STAT3 (67.7%) in ovarian cancer tissues of the patients in the study group were significantly higher than those (11.5% and 19.7%) of the patients in the control group. The values of RI (0.46±0.15) and PI (0.85±0.28) of the blood flow of the ovarian cancer of the patients in the study group were significantly lower than those (1.03±0.34 and 2.17±0.72) of the patients in the control group. The RI and PI values of the blood flow of the ovarian cancer of the patients with positive HE4 and STAT3 were significantly lower than those of the patients with negative HE4 and STAT3 (all P<0.05). There was a positive correlation between the HE4 expression and the STAT3 expression in ovarian cancer tissue (P<0.05). Conclusion: The expression levels of HE4 and STAT3 in ovarian cancer tissues of the patients increase and their blood flow parameters (RI and PI) of the blood flow of the ovarian cancer by TVCDS decrease abnormally. The combination of the expressions of HE4 and STAT3 in ovarian cancer tissues, and blood flow parameters of ovarian cancer by TVCDS of the patients can be as the differentiate indexes for ovarian cancer.
