Abstract To investigate the status of postpartum depression (PPD) of primiparas in Hangzhou, and to analyze the influencing factors of PPD. Methods: A crosssectional survey was conducted, and a total of 2997 singleton primiparas who had delivered live births in Hangzhou from June 2020 to June 2022 were collected as investigation objects by cluster random sampling. Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS) was used to investigate the status of PPD of these primiparas within 3 days after delivery. Logistic regression model was used to analyze the independent risk factors of PPD. Results: The incidence of PPD among 2997 primipara was 19.8%. The maternal age, maternal education level, family annual income, whether the maternal and spouse in jobs, body mass index, whether had medical insurance, whether registered residence in Hangzhou, whether labor analgesia, neonatal gender, neonatal feeding method, whether the gender of the newborn met the expectations of the immediate family members, whether the gender of the newborn met the expectations of the primiparas, history of adverse pregnancy, unplanned pregnancy, social support status, and experience of loss events during pregnancy and childbirth, and the incidences of low birth weight of newborn, term delivery, pregnancy complications, prenatal depression, and education accepted during pregnancy of the primiparas with PPD were significantly different from those of the primiparas without PPD (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that maternal age <30 years old, maternal education level of high school and junior high school or below, low birth weight neonates, unplanned pregnancy, low social support and moderate social support, and no education accepted during pregnancy were the independent risk factors for PPD of the primiparas (P<0.05). Conclusion: The incidence of PPD among the primiparas in this survey is higher, so it is suggested to timely carry out high risk pregnancy management for the primiparas with risk factors.
