Abstract To investigate the detection ability of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), creatinine (Cr), and glucose (GLU) in the pre-pregnancy health examination program of primary maternal and child health care institutions in Jiangsu Province. Methods: The returned results of ALT, Cr and GLU were collected from all participating laboratories from 2013 to 2021, and then the qualification rate, the coefficient of variation, and the result coincidence rate of each item were analyzed. Results: The qualification rates of GLU and ALT detection were stably over 94.0% and 95.0%, respectively. The qualification rate of Cr detection was stably over 96.0% except for the first test in 2013. The average CV values of ALT, Cr, and GLU detections were lower than those of the industry standard WS/T403-2012 of the National Health and Family Planning Commission. The utilization rate of Jaffe assay method for Cr detection had decreased year by year, while the utilization rate of enzymic method for Cr detection had increased year by year. The CV value of Jaffe assay method for Cr detection was significantly higher than that of enzymic method, and the result coincidence rate of Jaffe assay method was significantly lower than that of enzymic method (P<0.05). The utilization rate of oxidase method for GLU detection had decreased year by year, while the utilization rate of hexokinase method for GLU detection had increased year by year, and there were no significant differences in the CV value and the result coincidence rate between oxidase method and hexokinase method (P>0.05). Conclusion: From 2013 to 2021, the laboratory testing capacity and testing quality of ALT, Cr, and GLU in the pre-pregnancy health examination program of primary maternal and child health institutions in Jiangsu Province were improved continuously. The detection quality of reatine oxidase method for Cr detection was significantly higher than that of Jaffe assay method, but there was no significant difference in the quality of GLU detection between oxidase method and hexokinase method.
