Abstract To study the changes of serum levels of AHSG, retinol conjugated protein 4(RBP4), and fatty acid binding proteins 4 (FABP4), and to study their correlation with the severity of GDM and insulin resistance (IR) index of the women. Methods: 112 pregnant women with GDM were selected in study group from June 2015 to June 2018. According to the WHITE classification standard, these women included 44 women with Grade A1, 68 A2 patients. 112 healthy pregnant women were selected in control group. The serum levels of AHSG, RBP4, FABP4, fasting blood-glucose (FBG), fasting insulin (FINS), and IR of the women in the two groups were measured. Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between the serum levels of AHSG, RBP4 and FABP4 of the women and their severity of GDM and IR. Results: The serum levels of AHSG (252.21±10.56μg/ml), RBP4 (29.72±2.22 mmol/L), and FABP4 (17.87±1.39 ng/ml) of the women in the study group were significant higher than those of the women in the control group, and which of the women in the study group had increased with the severity of GDM (all P<0.05). The FBG level and IR value of the women in study group were significant higher than those of the women in control group, while the FINS level was significant lower than that of the women in control group. With the aggravation of GDM, the FBG level and IR value had increased, but FINS level had decreased (all P<0.05). The levels of serum AHSG, RBP4 and FABP4 of the women in the study group were positively correlated with the severity of GDM and IR. Conclusion: The levels of serum AHSG, RBP4 and FABP4 of the pregnant women with GDM are significantly correlated with the severity of their GDM and IR.
