Abstract To explore the anxiety and depression situations of pregnant women during pregnancy, and to study their relationship with their spouses' mental elasticity. Methods:636 pregnant women with anxiety and depression were selected from January 2018 to October 2020. Self rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and self rating Depression Scale (SDS) were used to evaluate the negative emotions scores of anxiety and depression of these women. According to the scores, these women were divided into group A (women with moderate and severe anxiety and depression) and group B (women with mild anxiety and depression). The age, gestational weeks, BMI value, nationality, education level, residence, abortion history, pregnancy frequency, pregnancy complications, sexual life of husband and wife, mother-in-law relationship, monthly income, pregnancy mode, spouse's psychological resilience, safety of mother and child, physical appearance, childbirth pain, parents divorce, role transformation, and whether to contraceptives used of the women in the two groups were analyzed. The psychological resilience of their spouses was scored, and the relationship between depression and anxiety of pregnant women and their spouses' resilience was analyzed. Results: There were 254 women in group A, the average anxiety score and the average depression score of the women in group A were 66.23 ± 7.42 points and 68.42 ± 8.45 points. There were 382 women in group B, the average anxiety score and the average depression score of the women in group A were 52.16 ± 4.28 points and 55.32 ± 4.98 points. Univariate analysis and Logistic regression analysis showed that pregnant women with pregnancy complications, serious worry about the safety of mother and child, spouse's resilience ≤ 40 points, serious worry about role transformation were the independent risk factors of anxiety and depression (P<0.05). The total score of mental elasticity of their spouses was negatively correlated with the status of depression and anxiety status of the pregnant women (r=-0.537, -0.542, P=0.017, 0.012). Conclusion: Pregnant women are affected by their psychological and physiological changes during pregnancy, as well as worry about unknown risks and fetal health, so they are prone to negative emotions of anxiety and depression. At the same time, the mental resilience of their spouses is also related to the situations of anxiety and depression of the pregnant women. The lower the total score of mental resilience of their spouses, the stronger the degree of depression and anxiety of the pregnant women.
