| The influence of drospirenone and ethinylestradiol tablets combined with Xinshenghua granule for treating patients with intrauterine residue after medical abortion on the levels of serum hormones and inflammatory factors |

Abstract Objective: To investigate the influence of drospirenone and ethinylestradiol tablets combined with Xinshenghua granule for treating patients with intrauterine residue after medical abortion on their serum hormones levels and inflammatory factors. Methods: 160 patients with intrauterine residue after medical abortion were enrolled and were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group (80 cases in each group) from June 2015 to January 2018. The patients in the control group were treated by mifepristone tablets, and patients in the observation group were treated with drospirenone and ethinylestradiol tablets combined with Xinshenghua granule. The efficacy of patients was compared between the two groups. The levels of serum sex hormone, such as estradiol (E2), progesterone (P), β-chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG), and inflammatory factors, such as hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukins -6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) of all patients were measured before and after treatment. Results: The treatment success rate of patients in the observation group was 100%, which was significant higher than that (93.8%) of patients in the control group (P<0.05). The amount of vaginal bleeding, the duration of vaginal bleeding, and the time of first menstrual recovery of patients in the observation group were significant lower than those of patients in the control group, while the endometrial thickness after the first menstrual recovery was significantly higher than that of patients in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of β-hCG, P, hs-CRP, IL-6 and TNF-αof patients in the observation group were significant lower than those of patients in the control group, while the E2 level was significant higher than those of patients in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The drospirenone and ethinylestradiol tablets combined with Xinshenghua granule for treating patients with intrauterine residue after medical abortion has good effectiveness, which may be related to regulating hormones and decreasing serum inflammatory factor levels.
