Effect of pregnant nutrition supplement on pregnant women anemia |

Abstract To analyze the influence of pregnant nutrition supplement on pregnant women anemia. Methods: A total of 358 pregnant women were randomly divided into observation group (188 cases) and control group (170 cases).The women in observation group were given nutrition supplements, and the women in control group were given folic acid during pregnancy. The levels of hemoglobin (Hb), serum ferritin, vitamin B12 and folic acid of all included women were measured during the first, the second and the third trimester of pregnancy, and Apgar score of neonates in both groups were observed. Results: The body mass index (BMI) of women during the third trimester of pregnancy in observation group was significant higher than that of women in control group. Hb level of women during the second and the third trimester of pregnancy in observation group was significant higher than that of the control group. Serum iron concentration of women during the third trimester of pregnancy in observation group was significant higher than that of women in control group (P<0.05). There were no significant different in levels of serum ferritin, folic acid and vitamin B12 of women between the two groups (P>0.05). The neonatal Apgar score in observation group was significant higher than that in control group (P=0.001). Conclusion: Nutritional supplements during pregnancy can significantly improve the pregnant women quality of life during the third trimester of pregnancy and the level of serum iron, so it can improve the level hemoglobin, and can prevent the anemia of pregnant women.
