Abstract Objective: To explore influence of different time of the second labor stage in standard of new 1aber stage on outcomes of delivery mode and pregnancy. Methods: 738 pregnant women who intended to vaginal delivery in the hospital of traditional Chinese and western medicine of Wenzhou city were divided into control group (438 cases), observation group A (183 cases), and observation group B (117 cases) according to different time of the second labor stage. The pregnant outcomes were compared among the three groups. Results: The incidence of oligohydramnios in two observation groups was significant higher than that in control group (P<0.05), while there was no statistical significant difference between the two observation groups (P>0.05). There were no statistical significant difference in the rates of the gestational diabetes mellitus, the gestational hypertension, the premature rupture of membranes, the umbilical cord torsion, and the hydramnios among the three groups (P > 0.05). There was statistical significant difference in the rate of forceps midwifery among the three groups (P = 0.018), but there were no difference in the rates of cesarean section, natural childbirth, and perineal lateral incision (P>0.05). There were statistical significant difference in the rates of the postpartum hemorrhage, fever, and urinary retention were gradually increasing (P<0.05), but there were not significant differences in, the score of neonatal Apgar (1min and 5min), the rates of neonatal asphyxia and turned to NICU, and the rate of the perineum incision infection (P>0.05). Conclusion: The pregnant women with oligohydramnios have slower progress in the second labor. The time delay of the second labor can increase risk of midwifery by forceps, the postpartum hemorrhage, the postpartum fever, and the urinary retention.
