Abstract Objective: To analyze the incidence of cervical cancer among women of childbearing age in Haining. Methods: Women of childbearing age who participated in 'cervical cancer screening program for married childbearing age women in Haining' in between 2012-and 2014 were recruited and women whose examination results of Thinprep cytologic test were ASCUS or above were diagnosed as high-risk. A unified questionnaire survey was done and human papillomavirus (HPV) examination and biopsy under colposcopy were conducted. An epidemiological analysis was carried out in high-risk population with t test, 2 test and single factor, multiple factor logistic regression analysis. Results: A total of 39 735 women took part in the program, and 1260 high-risk ones were found. Single factor and multiple factor analyses showed that the development of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer were related with various factors. Factors such as the smaller age at first sex, multiple sexual partners, chronic cervical diseases, cervical contact bleeding, a history of malignancy in first-degree relatives were positively correlated with the development for cervical cancer. The higher education level, cervical cancer screening within one year were negatively correlated with the development of cervical cancer. Conclusion: Cervical cancer screening is an effective measure to prevent cervical cancer.
