Abstract The abortion of the unmarried women can seriously harms their fertility, which not only damages the reproductive organs and induces the gynecological diseases, but also causes the psychological problems, such as depression and anxiety, and may also cause the long-term complications of the infertility of the unmarried women. In recent years, the unmarried women with induced abortion in China are characterized by the younger age, the high rate of repeated abortion, the large floating population and the lack of reproductive health knowledge. The lack of the systematic and scientific reproductive health knowledge, the exaggerated propaganda about painless induced abortion and the bad social environment factors are the main reasons for the high rate of the induced abortion among the unmarried women. Popularizing the reproductive health education in the primary and secondary schools, limiting the exaggerated propaganda of the painless induced abortion in the media, and providing the post-abortion care and the counseling and education services are the main measures to reduce the induced abortion occurrence of the unmarried women.
