| Qualitative study on the preparation needs for the discharge of pregnant women with hyperglycemia treated by insulin injection |

Abstract To explore the home self-care information needs of pregnant women with hyperglycemia who require insulin injections, and to develop the more scientific and effective discharge intervention plan. Methods: The qualitative research method was conducted in this study. The semi-structured in-depth interviews were used to collect the data of 16 pregnant women with hyperglycemia during the treatment of insulin injection, and the interview content was analyzed by Colaizzi's 7step analysis method. Results: 4 themes were extracted according to the interview results, which included the needs of improving the self-management ability of the insulin injection, the needs of information management, the needs of psychological support and the needs of multi-directional support. Conclusion: The pregnant women with gestational hyperglycemia who require insulin injections should be given the disease-related knowledge and the comprehensive support, should be improved their self-management ability，should be paid attention to their psychological needs and provide the psychological counseling.
