Abstract To observe the effects of the prenatal delivery rehearsal with the participation of family member for primiparas on their delivery outcomes. Methods: A total of 102 primiparas who had been antenatal examination in hospital and wanted planning delivery were included and were divided into control group and observation group (51 cases in each group) by random number table method from January 2020 to June 2023. The primiparas in the two groups were given routine nursing intervention, and the primiparas in the observation group were given the prenatal delivery rehearsal intervention with the participation of family member additionally. The labor progress, the scores of the pre-delivery evaluated by Fear of Labor Scale (CAQ), Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) and self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), the delivery mode, the maternal and neonatal adverse outcomes, the neonatal Apgar score at 1min and 5min after born and the maternal satisfaction of the nursing of the primiparas in the two groups were observed. Results: The durations of different stages of the labor of the primiparas in the observation group were significantly shorter than those of the primiparas in the control group. The scores of CAQ (24.12±2.76 points), SDS (42.16±7.65 points) and SAS (38.75±6.21 points) of the primiparas in the observation group before delivery were significantly lower than those (26.73±4.21 points, 49.65±8.62 points and 45.86±7.23 points) of the primiparas in the control group. The rate of natural delivery (96.1%) of the primiparas in the observation group was significantly higher than that (84.3%) of the primiparas in the control group. The rates of the maternal and neonatal adverse outcomes (0 and 0) in the observation group were significantly lower than those (9.8% and 7.8%) in the control group. The neonatal Apgar score at 1 min (8.89±0.47 points) and at 5 min (9.93±0.05 points) in the observation group were significantly higher than those (8.23±0.61 points and 9.82±0.08 points) in the control group. The maternal nursing satisfaction rate (98.0%) in the observation group was significantly higher than that (84.3%) in the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusion: The pre-delivery rehearsal with the participation of family members for the primiparas can improve their adverse psychological reaction before delivery, shorten their labor process, improve their pregnancy outcomes, and increase their satisfaction rate.
