Abstract The colonization and evolution of the gut flora of the children in the early life are the complex and dynamic process, and which can be influenced by a variety of prenatal and postnatal factors. Increasing number of the studies have found that the development of the gut flora in the early life is closely linked to the development of the nervous system of the children, and which can be involved in the development of the nervous system through various pathways, and have a profound impact on it. The dysbiosis of the gut flora in the early life of the children may lead to various kinds of neurodevelopmental disorders later. In recent years, the increasing studies have found that the influence of gut flora of the children on their nervous system by the brain-gut axis. In this paper, the influence of gut flora in the early life on the neurodevelopment of the infants and young children is reviewed.
