Abstract Calreticulin is one of proinflammatory factor and which has been widely concerned as a marker of inflammation. Based on promoter and different selective splicing, calreticulins can encode a variety of subtypes of proteins that perform different biological functions. With the development of the application and research of molecular biology, more and more calreticulin subtypes have been detected in the women with pregnancy related diseases, and these different calreticulin subtypes are inevitably related to the occurrence and development of pregnancy related diseases. At present, the mechanism of action between the different calreticulin subtypes and the pregnancy related diseases has become a research hotspot. Further research on the mechanism of action of calreticulin can provide a new vision for the diagnosis, treatment, prognosis evaluation, and overcoming drug resistance of the women with pregnancy related diseases.
